Be Bold

Who are not amazed by Apostle Peter's boldness? From someone who denied Jesus to become someone who stepped up and preached the Gospel. Thousand of people were saved. We are all enjoying his courageous legacy.

Being bold is risky.

But, come on, let's be honest to ourselves. Not everyone dares to be bold. Being bold is risky.

Let me ask when the last time you were being bold like Peter did? Or maybe I should ask, do you ever being bold? Perhaps you think that being brave is not for you.

It's understandable if you are afraid. Because it's easy to admire someone boldly, but to be bold by ourselves is sometimes is inconvenient and not easy.

People will judge you, misunderstand you, or sometimes you get punished. The Bible wrote the example, look what happened to Peter and James; they are put into prison because they confidently speak what they believe.

I think that everyone has their definition of what it looks like to be bold, not always in the form of speaking in front of thousands of people like Peter. Being yourself and daring to be real and authentic is also what I call being bold.

Honestly, I was often misunderstood by others, punished, and bullied because I was too fearless when I spoke up, or how the way I sing and my writing. So I can assure you that it's never been an easy journey. I know it first hand. But, as I turned back time, I was glad and thanked God that I never stop of being myself.

Many people don't want to be bold because they are scared. But, let's think for a while, what if Peter stopped to speak up about the Gospel because he was afraid of jail. Then, I believe that history will be different. Right?

So when you want to take a leap of faith of being bold, don't think what the worse could happen? But allowed me to change your perspective and ask yourself, 'what the best could happen if I were being bold?'

I don't know what your boldness looks are. But, remember that we are ordinary people with extraordinary God. To be used by God is our choice. So, I hope you will choose to live boldly. Would you join me to say this simple dangerous prayer, "God, make me bold." And see how the story goes.

Be bold, be brave, and be kind.

This post is my personal notes from the Westmark Bible Study assignment. So, every week we read two chapters together and share what we learned or found from them. Let’s learn and grow together.
